[Edifice Review] EFV-100L-1A — Compact Time-Only Watch

The Ultimate Guide to All EDIFICEs — composed by Experts

Edifice is increasingly trying to offer customers a watch that is not burdened with rich functionality, in other words, a watch is only for time. It would seem that the 21st century is in the yard, and on the contrary, you need to use all the technological developments in your products [which we see in the EQB series, for example], but many just want to wear a stylish accessory without unnecessary frills and at a “tasty” price. It is about these watches that the conversation will go today – before you is the EFV-100L-1A.

Over the past year, the Japanese have just taken seriously to build up the mass of smart watches. EQB representatives are “stamped” with the speed of sound, which means that with each new series you need to somehow transform the watch externally [design, window layout, etc.], otherwise the audience will gradually lose interest in such models. With the filling it’s simpler yet – Bluetooth synchronization, a solar battery, and the basic set [stopwatch, world clock, timer, alarm clock].

With budget watches a completely different story – no “smart” and not very functions, but only a dial, hands and a little extra. windows.

I trudge from minimalism, and in everything – from the interior to the desktop on the computer. And the EFV-100 is very minimalistic [especially for edifays] – there are only a couple of inscriptions and a small date window on the dial besides the arrows. In the first article about the series, it was mentioned about the external resemblance to some “Swiss”, especially the pointed shape of the arrows. It is unlikely that the Japanese deliberately copy other people’s ideas [they have plenty of their own], rather take into account fashion trends in watchmaking.

The first thing that bothered me a bit in this watch was that the second hand does not “fall” into divisions at all. After the appearance of my G-Shock GG-1000, I could stick for a few minutes for a second, which ideally fell into my risks on the dial. Here the arrow goes as it pleases – it deviates to the left of the division, then to the right [although, depending on the viewing angle, the situation changes for the better]. It seems that the quartz movement here is no different from those in the cheapest MTP-shkah. Sorry for such pickiness – this is Edifice, although many other episodes from this direction [most often state employees] suffer from the same drawback.

There are no questions about the size – the watch is compact [48 x 42 x 10.9 mm], light and hardly felt on the hand. I got a model with a leather strap, to which there are no complaints – the skin is smooth and pleasant to the touch.

The case is completely steel, moreover, with a non-uniform surface treatment – the bezel and the rear part are mirror-polished, and the side parts are rough.

The readability of the dial is high enough – large hour markers and hands do their job. There is no backlight, but there is a light-accumulating coating on the arrows [but there is little benefit from it].

Specifications of EFV-100

  • Case / bezel material: Stainless steel
  • One-touch 3-fold Clasp
  • Stainless Steel Band
  • Mineral Glass
  • Screw Lock Back
  • 100-meter water resistance
  • Date display
  • Regular timekeeping
Analog: 3 hands (hour, minute, second)
  • Accuracy: ±20 seconds per month
  • Approx. battery life: 3 years on SR927SW
  • Size of case : 48×42×10.9mm
  • Total weight : 125g

From the additional information on the dial there is only a date window in the form of the day of the month. The date, of course, is not automatic, so at the beginning of the month you will have to set the number manually.

The crown is traditionally responsible for the setting – one click [when the second hand is at 12 o’clock] to set the time, and the same click to set the date. There are no other manipulations in the watch.

One advantage over MTP [except for the inscription Edifice on the dial] there is still – 100-meter water resistance. With the EFV-100 you can swim, swim and even dive [to a shallow depth and not for long] – this is enough for most situations.

The dial is protected by mineral glass. The battery will last 3 years, and a screw-back case makes it easy to replace.

Conclusion

EFV-100L-1A is a worthy representative of watches in the classical sense of the word. No premium chips, expensive materials, and more. windows, only time and date. If you are a fan of lightness and minimalism and do not worry about getting arrows in the division – you will definitely like this watch.

You have made an error listing the Specifications of this watch in your article; from your mention of Telememo all the way to the weight of this watch is wrong. Please see reference https://www.casio-intl.com/mea/en/wat/watch_detail/EFV-100D-1AV/

I bought my EFV-100D with the black dial online as a pre-owned watch. Though I only have a 6.25″ dia. wrist, the watch wears perfectly and it’s bracelet is easily one of the most comfortable in my collection. I LOVE my Edifice EFV-100D it is nearly a perfect every-day, go anywhere wrist watch! Classy and Sporty at the same time; an excellent bargain!
